Shared financial snapshot tool: Get an overview of your finances as a couple

Track what you each earn, spend, and contribute, and see your finances as a couple using the Wealthbit Shared Financial Snapshot tool.

“We talk about finances, but I don’t really have a full picture of what it all looks like together.”

Sound familiar?

When you live together, you share so much day-to-day, yet money is often the one area that stays vague or unspoken. We don’t always pause to look at what we earn, what we spend, or how much each partner contributes. And that can leave both people guessing.

The Wealthbit Shared Financial Snapshot tool makes it easy to step back and finally see the bigger picture. You each fill in your own numbers: what you earn, spend, save, and put toward shared goals. Then the tool pulls everything into one simple, honest overview.

How it works

Start by adding your own numbers:

  • Your income: Enter your monthly income after tax. Include any side gigs or irregular income you typically receive.
  • Your spending: Add your monthly expenses, including bills, debt repayments, and contributions to retirement, etc.
  • Shared contributions: When you share an expense, like rent, groceries, or a joint savings goal, simply tick Shared and enter the percentage you cover.
Example: Your rent is R10k? Enter only your portion → tick Shared → add your %.
  • Your savings: Add the savings you’ve already built up, like an emergency fund or other personal savings. If some savings are shared, indicate that too.

Once both of you have added your numbers, the tool combines them into a clear, easy-to-understand overview of your own and shared finances.

Why it matters

It’s completely normal for couples to have different money habits or different ideas of what “fair” looks like. This snapshot helps you understand each other without blame or stress.

Money talks aren’t just about the numbers. They help you grow trust, confidence, and teamwork.

And when you’re both working with a clear picture, you can make better decisions and avoid the financial surprises that cause tension.
