Get to Know the Team – Imtiaz

Welcome to our Get to Know the Team blog series! Each month we are shining the spotlight on one of our own, giving you the opportunity to get to know each member of our Wealthbit family a little bit better.

Proudly South African at its core, Wealthbit is growing into a truly global business with teammates around the world who work with passion and dedication to our ideals. From Cape Town to South Korea, Salt rock to the UK, we want to introduce you to some of our phenomenal colleagues who are taking the South African financial management world by storm.

This month we're getting to know Imtiaz aka Imty, one of our earliest team members and a true Wealthbit OG. Imty joined our team back in 2018, when Wealthbit was just a sparkle in our founders' eyes. Since then, he's been a big part of the driving force behind building our platform to where it is today.

Imty was but a mere fledgling fresh out of varsity and it was important for him to be a part of a company that was doing meaningful work, where he could grow and master his craft, cue in Wealthbit.

And grow he did.

Fast forward to 2023 and we are thrilled to still have Imty as part of the business as a Senior Developer. Imty is an integral part of helping dream up new and innovative ways to design, build and improve a platform that is simple, beautiful, and impactful.

When we asked Imty what else he loves most about working at Wealthbit, he didn't hesitate to talk about the company as well as the team members’ values around focus, encouragement, and intentionality.

“We take the time to focus on personal development, we are intentional about everything that we do here at Wealthbit and in our personal lives. And we encourage and help each other with that process.

This translates well to our goal which is to help everyone gain financial stability so that they are able to take time to focus on what they value”. - Imty

Imty is based in Centurion, (VALHALLA - as Imty likes to fondly call his hometown) with his beautiful wife and soon-to-be baby. When he's not busy coding or strategizing, he likes to unwind by gaming, cycling, or watching sports like F1 and Soccer. He's also a big fan of cooking and is always looking for new and exciting recipes to try.

When you meet Imty, he is quiet and reserved but don’t let that fool you. He is deeply curious, observant, caring, and funny. And when he does share his thoughts - KA-POW.

He's always willing to lend a helping hand and goes above and beyond to ensure that we reach our goals here at Wealthbit. To give you a little more personal insight into who Imty is, we asked him what book or movie changed his life:

"The Quran. It is my companion through life, my relationship with God - guiding me to understand myself and my existence in the world. It is the book that molded me into the person I am today, and makes me a more loving and grateful person.” - Imty

At Wealthbit, we're incredibly lucky to have Imty on our team. He is one of the most authentic and genuinely beautiful human beings you (or we) will ever meet. He is a valuable member of our family, and we're excited to see where his talents and passions will take him (and us) in the future.
